Our Mission

Our mission is simple. To leave the world a little better than we found it.

Farm & Market is the first direct-to-consumer urban farm, restaurant, and market in the U.S. Our completely chemical-free farm is beyond organic, and our daily harvest offers the freshest and most nutritious everyday eating available. Seriously.

Davis Breedlove wished he could marry his passion for gardening with his talent for data analytics (yes, he’s a nerd) in a way that could make a difference in the world. Farm & Market is where passion meets talent, and we think he may be on to something. Davis’ dream is a skyscraper where every floor grows a different crop, and a single building feeds an entire city the freshest, tastiest produce. One day!

Protecting Land and Preserving Water

38% of the world’s land and 70% of the world’s water are used for agriculture. These resources are becoming more precious every decade.

Our farm uses 10% of the water used in traditional farming. It takes 20 gallons of water to grow a head of lettuce on a traditional farm. It takes us 1 gallon. Our 3,000 square foot farm is 6.5% of an acre and produces 3 times the leafy greens of one acre of traditional farming.

Decreasing Waste and Carbon Emissions

35% of food is lost in transit between farm and distribution. 54% of food is wasted in distribution and retail. Produce travels an average of 1500 miles to grocery stores and restaurants.

0% food is wasted at Farm & Market. We harvest what we need each day, and we donate what we don't sell. We don't truck our food. Farm-to-Fork in 5 feet. Literally.

Our Secret Sauce…The Daily Harvest

We are the only farm in the U.S., and maybe the world, harvesting a portion of each crop we grow daily. This means you get produce with 100% nutrition and flavor.

Produce at grocery stores and restaurants travels up to 1500 miles and loses 50% of its nutrition on the way. Over 50% of grocery store produce falls short of freshness requirements.

Beyond Organic

Most organic farms use non-synthetic pesticides. We are 100% pesticide, herbicide, and fungicide free. No chemicals in our food, so no chemicals in your body.
